Look! Over there! al Qaeda! No, we're serious this time...
Yahoo! News - U.S. Sees al-Qaida Link in Embassy Blast : " A group linked to Osama bin Laden's al-Qaida terror network, Ansar al-Islam, may have been behind the car bombing of Jordan's embassy in Baghdad, which killed 19 people, U.S. officials said Friday. "

OK, so "may have been" is kind of wishy-washy. It's equally true to say that the Illuminati "may have been" behind it. But...

U.S.-run Radio Sawa, which broadcasts to the Middle East, quoted American Lt. Gen. Norton Schwartz on Friday as saying American authorities were looking at Ansar al-Islam as a potential sponsor of the bombing.
...this makes it pretty clear that we at least want people to think that we think Ansar al-Islam is behind it. However...
[Lt. Gen. Ricardo Sanchez, commander of U.S.-led forces in Iraq] said U.S. officials didn't have any specific information linking Ansar al-Islam to the bombing but were looking for any possible link.

So what game are we playing here? Why would al Qaeda be involved in blowing up the Jordanian embassy? Could it have something to do with the fact that four days earlier the Jordanians offered asylum to Saddam Hussein's daughters? Inquiring minds want to know.
