Holding my nose
That stench you're smelling comes from the Senate chamber, where they declined to have a recorded vote on the $87B appropriation for Iraq, passing it instead on a voice vote. I have heard (but haven't yet verified) that only five Senators were on the floor at the time, and that only Robert Byrd voted "no".

Update: I just spoke with someone in Senator Byrd's office, and she didn't have an exact count of how many Senators were on the floor for the vote, but when I mentioned five she said, "it was somewhere around that."
