Bush has said repeatedly that he believes that South Carolinians should be left to decide the fate of that flag and that a candidate for president should not meddle. But Williams asked him if he was personally offended by the banner.Bush did not bite.
"What you're trying to get me do is express the will of the people of South Carolina,'' he said. "I believe the people of South Carolina can figure out what to do with this flag issue.''
